Melody's got a new job at the local maid cafe! Unfortunately, Melody's partner Sharon thinks the outfits are a little boring. Luckily, the staff are open to suggestions! How far can Melody push them?

In Maid Cafe Fashion Disaster, you take on the role of a consultant and enforcer for a maid cafe's uniform. Every day, call out staff who aren't following the rules. Every night, select a change to the dress code from a few suggestions. Earn enough trust, and you can reduce your coworkers' inhibitions.

This game was made for NSFW MiniJam #18 over the course of about 9 days. It features a story mode which takes 30-45 minutes to complete, as well as a dress-up mode. The story mode focuses on exhibitionism and corruption fetishes. The game is a sequel to Underdressed at the RenFest, although it also works as a standalone story. You can play that one to see how Melody and Sharon first got together.

How to Play

The game is mostly driven by the mouse. You can also use space or enter to advance text during cutscenes. Press M to mute the music and shift to fast-forward cutscenes.

During the dress-code inspection segments, maids will travel from left to right across the screen to deliver orders to customers, then travel back across to return to the kitchen. If you see a maid out of uniform, click on her to pull up the accusations menu.

A successful accusation is worth 20 points before order delivery, or 10 points on the way back. Once the maid returns to the kitchen, you will earn 5 points for a perfect uniform, or be penalized 5 points per violating clothing piece. Only visible violations matter; you won't be penalized if a maid is wearing the wrong bra hidden under her dress.

Update: I finished playing the game, and I was not disappointed. Having those checkpoints of needing the outfits to satisfy certain criteria in order to be acceptable was a very smart move to pace things better. I also liked how, after a certain point, not sure if it's outfit exposure, or the number of checkpoints you passed, girls started coming back with cum on them. But, only one cum splatter per girl, which I was a bit surprised about, given your usual material. I'd love to have seen them get more and more cum as time went on, somehow.

I'd love to see this expanded in some way. How, I'm not sure. Maybe just more outfits, different proportioned maids (maybe with separate dress codes for added difficulty), or a new game plus/hard mode where the maids move faster, or maybe the game doesn't pause (or just slows down) while you tell a maid what's wrong, since you can kinda "cheat" by checking for other maids' outfits while in that paused state. Not that that's a major issue as it is, though. But regardless, if you're at all inspired to do more with this after the game jam, I'd love to see it.

Thanks for playing! Regarding the cum mechanic, it’s a 0% chance in phase 1, 10% in phase 2, 75% in phase 3, and 100% in free play at the end. It was a very last minute addition so unfortunately I didn’t get a chance to add any kind of bukkake escalation stuff with it.

I had a lot of other ideas for the game, but of course time pressure was an issue. I initially planned to have some sort of punishment/consequence system, where at first if a maid violates the dress code, you just make her fix the mistake, but eventually can do things like spanking, confiscating the item (potentially leaving them nude), or having her sexually service the customer as an apology. However I think it would have slowed down the gameplay loop a lot, so I’d have to really overhaul some other systems to make it not a slog.

I also wanted the maids going back and forth to be persistent characters instead of just randomly generated on the fly, and each one would have different preferences for how revealing they wanted the uniform to be. You would have one-on-one coaching sessions with them after hours to get them to open up.

I don’t think I’ll actually get to this stuff though unfortunately; once I’ve got the story finished it’s pretty hard to find the motivation to go and fill in more details, you know? And I’ve got other projects I want to get back to.

I agree on that part, the gameplay loop as it is would not have supported something like punishments mid-day. You'd have to have an entirely different gameplay loop, really, and just generally have longer days. Simple is best, as far as this is concerned, and a lot of things, honestly. Although I do think those after-hours coaching sessions could definitely work as a mechanic! Maybe you'd get points on a character-by-character basis instead of just having one counter.

One thought that I had while playing, and I hesitate to even call this a suggestion, was that, what if the outfit changes happened based on what infractions you let slide? If that inspires you in any way, it has served its purpose.

As much as I'd love to see more of this, I do get that lack of motivation thing. But if it gives you any motivation, know that I will be eagerly awaiting any updates that may or may not come to this game. Or perhaps you could make another similar game using this game's mechanics as a baseline, but with a different story, setting, and/or characters, if that helps motivate you? Like... an office setting, or a medieval fantasy army  (maybe the king/court wizard found an artifact that makes soldiers become more protected the more skin they expose or something silly like that)

I always get super excited when I see a new Uskprod game, you always come up with interesting and engaging game mechanics that, most importantly, play perfectly into the lewd aspects of the game. And you always nail just the right level of gradual-ness, not too fast and not too slow when it comes to "earning" the lewdness.

A very clever approach of turning dress-up mechanics into a larger game! Everything feels well-tuned with clothing variety, visible progression, and plenty of illustrated cutscenes for the overall length. It's also neat to see some reoccurring characters forming a longer story arc between games. Fun new concept and great execution, very nicely done!
